'At Least 14 Episodes' For Series 7

Steven Moffat has given an interview to Radio Times recently telling them that there will be at least 14 new episodes for series 7 of Doctor Who, which starts filming next month, which will then be shown later this year in the Autumn.

When he was asked how many episodes will be shown, he answered,“I won’t say when exactly, but it’ll be back in the autumn for a long run. I will just say, it will be at least 14 episodes. We always do 14, because we do the Christmas special as well. So being in the autumn, the Christmas special will be part of it as well.”

When he was then asked about the 50th Anniversery of the show, he said that 'there will never be a better time to be a Doctor Who fan.Oh dear God. I think, knowing a certain amount of what’s coming, there will never be a better time, I promise you, and I am just saying this as a Doctor Who fan myself. I promise you, for so many reasons I can’t talk about.'

Former Doctor David Tennant, 40, married Georgia Moffett, 27, yesterday at a ceremony held in London for friends and family, which Catherine Tate attended. Doctor Who Fans will remember Georgia playing The Doctors on-screen daughter in the fourth series of Doctor Who, The Doctor's Daughter. Georgia's father is also a former Doctor, Peter Davidson, who played the fifth Doctor. David and Georgia already have a little baby boy, Olive, who was born back in March last year. Congrats David and Georgia, Hope you have a brilliant life together from everyone at Doctor Who Madness.

The game will give let the player play as The Doctor and River Song, and will be released early 2012 on the playstation 3, playstation Vita and Computer.

This will be the first in a series of new Doctor Who video games, with two more planned to come out next year, 2012. BBC Worldwide has said that the game will be a "time-based gameplay" involving changes made in one time creating multiple possibilities elsewhere, along with general puzzle solving across the centuries.

It’s Christmas Eve, 1938, when Madge Arwell comes to the aid of an injured Spaceman Angel as she cycles home, in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, starring Matt Smith as the Doctor.

He promises to repay her kindness – all she has to do is make a wish.

Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost over the channel, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever.

The Arwells are surprised to be greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world. Here, Madge will learn how to be braver than she ever thought possible. And that wishes can come true…

Thats right, you read that title correct, its the news all whovains have been waiting for, there will officaly be a Doctor Who Movie, and it will arrive in the next two to three years.

David Yates, who directed the Harry Potter Movie's, has confirmed that he is working on a Doctor Who Movie. It will be developed by BBC worldwide's Jane Tranter. Yates gave an interview to Variety, and he had this to say,

"We're looking at writers now," Yates confirmed. "We're going to spend two to three years to get it right. It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."

He did say though that it would not follow on from the current TV Series, featuring Matt Smith, and will instead take an entirely different turn "Russell T Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch. We want a British sensibility, but having said that, Steve Kloves wrote the Potter films and captured that British sensibility perfectly, so we are looking at American writers too."

He then explained why exactly he wanted to get involved with the project, "The notion of the time-travelling Time Lord is such a strong one, because you can express story and drama in any dimension or time."

Earlier this week Matt Smith gave an interview to VH1, where he hinted that he may try out for acting roles in Los Angeles after the next series of doctor Who had finished filming.

He quoted, "I've got another year of Doctor Who, but then I'm certainly going to come and give it a shot, I'd like to come and hang out in LA."

Earlier Today thee BBC announced some new juicy information about this years Doctor Who Festive instalment.

Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) Alexander Armstrong (Voice Of Mr. Smith in The Sarah Jane Adventures) Bill Bailey (Comedian) and Arabella Weir (Comedian) will star in this years special, which will be set in World War Two.

The Story will see The Doctor embark on a magical and mysterious adventure in World War II-torn England with a young widow and her two children.

Steven Moffat stated, ''The Doctor at Christmas - nothing is more fun to write, Maybe because it's so his kind of day - everything's bright and shiny, everybody's having a laugh, and nobody minds if you wear a really stupid hat.''

Doctor Who has once again scooped up a Hugo at this year's awards ceremony.

The award was for 'best dramatic presentation, short form' and it was awarded to The Pandorica Opens/ The Big Bang.

A Christmas Carol and Vincent & The Doctor were also nominated for the award.

This marks the fifth Hugo award for Doctor Who, and the fourth award for head writer Steven Moffat with The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances, The Girl In The Fireplace, and blink already under his belt.

The Daily Star recently stated that episode 12 of S6 P2 will be entitled 'Closing Time'. Now the daily star aren't always reliable so we took it as a pinch of salt, but now a bbc america press release has confirmed that the title is indeed 'Closing Time'. Closing Time will see the return of Craig and Sophie, and will see them join The Doctor again to battle one of his darkest enemies, The Cybermen, along with the cyber-mats.

The Daily Star has also stated that Ep13 will be called 'The Wedding', could they be right?

The BBC have released on episode guide for the rest of Series 6, from Ep8-13, and in the guide, it has been revealed that episode 10 will be entitled 'The Girl Who Waited'. We know already that Tom MacRae was wrote the episode and it will be about Amy Pond. MacRae has also called the episode 'Unusual' whilst Matt Smith says its Karen's 'Best Performance of her life'.

On August 26th, the Edinburgh International Television Festival will screen episode 8 of Series 6, Let's Kill Hitler, and they have released a synopsis for the episode, which you can view below,

In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in 1930s Berlin, bringing the Doctor face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe. And Hitler. The Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities – and in so doing, learns a harsh lesson in the cruelest warfare of all.

Sounds Intriguing, we'll have to find out what it all means this autumn!

Now we know that Miracle Day will air on 14th July, the BBC have officially released a press release for the first episode, The New World.

A spokesperson recently confirmed that the first episode of the ten-part sci-fi drama will air in a Thursday night slot at 9pm.

In the first of three Torchwood stories, when Rhys’s elderly Uncle Bryn has a heart attack while listening to the shipping forecast, it seems like another routine death at Ivyday Nursing Home. Until Gwen’s suspicions are roused by another elderly resident…

In Tuesday’s story, by Ryan Scott, a distress signal lures Jack, Gwen and Ianto to the deepest part of the ocean – the Mariana Trench – and they find themselves trapped with a hungry alien.

In Wednesday’s Torchwood, it’s the last night at the House Of The Dead, the most haunted pub in Wales, and Mrs Wintergreen is holding a seance. Then the ghosts start arriving, and all hell breaks loose.

Torchwood: Web Of Lies will be a new 10 part 3-minute motion comic epiosdes that will be released weekly prior to the Miracle Day epiosdes, which will start to air on BBC One next month. The BBC Today released full details on whats to come.

The Web Of Lies episodes will be released weekly, with the first instalment free from Itunes. Then after that there will be a punch of three episodes together in a pack of 3 at 59p, or you will beable to buy a special pack of all 10 episodes at £1.79

Written by Jane Espenson and Ryan Scott, the story reveals a past day which neither Jack Harkness or Gwen Cooper can remember. The events of that day fuelled a modern day conspiracy-laced treasure hunt led by Holly Mokr, who is voiced by Eliza Dushku.

Each episode will reveal clues linked in with the Miracle Day as well as a new game.

'There will not be a full series of Dr Who in 2012! BBC confirms that BBC One Controller said this earlier today.'

This May mean that we will be getting a special's year again, likewise to the 2009 specials. This could also mean that some of the 14 episodes commissioned will be aired in late 2012, and the rest in earlier 2013 , to tie in with the 50th Anniversary in November. More New's as we get it.

The Official Figure's for A Good Man Goes To War , which revealed the identity of River Song, have been released by the BARB, which show's the programme got 7.57m viewer's, a whooping 2 million more than the overnight ratings. The Audience Share was 31.0% overall, and the AI for the episode received 88, the joint highest with The Impossible Astronaut.

Torchwood Creator Russell T. Davies has revealed that in Series 4 Of Torchwoo: Miracle, Cpt. Jack Will Be MORTAL!

Capitan Jack Is Famous for not being able to die after Rose Tyler brought him back to life in 2005.

Russell told AOL TV: "The greatest thing you can do is offer a new look into the character. It's not fundamentally altering the character, it's fundamentally altering the rules [while] the character stays the same."

He also hinted that the premise might be linked to Miracle Day: "It's the biggest switch in the show, which we did in order to give us new insights into Jack."

Torchwood: Miracle Day will air next mounth on BBC1 and American channel Starz.

Sam Hodges, who is the head of communications for BBC1 Fiction, tweeted earlier on today that Matt Smith will be back for 14 new episodes next year, this includes this years traditional Christmas Episode:

He is best known in the who-universe for writing episodes 2 and 4 of Torchwood: Children Of Eath, which aired in 2009.
